Well done to Steve who takes care of out website and marketing for running the Wales Half Marathon in Pembrokeshire and raising £1,190 for Together For Short Lives in memory of his niece.

If you are not aware of them, Together for Short Lives is the leading UK charity for all children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and all those who support, love and care for them. They support families, professionals and services, including children’s hospices. Their work helps to ensure that children can get the best possible care, wherever and whenever they need it. A wonderful cause and one that is very close to Steve and his Wife Deborah’s heart. Below is a few words Steve penned afterwards:

“On Sunday 5th July 2015 I ran the Wales Half Marathon in memory of our niece Sadie & would like to thank everybody for helping to raise £1,190 for Together For Short Lives. All donations, large or small, have been be hugely appreciated.”

“As for the run itself, it started within the stunning Pembroke Castle and locals and visitors alike lined the streets creating a fantastic atmosphere all the way on to Tenby high street. It was a challenging course with the hill at Manorbier a particularly memorable climb but just as you think it it was getting tiring someone was there willing the runners on from the side. Talking of hills, the training in the Hereford hills and Cheshire lanes turned out to be a huge benefit; beats running in a city any day!”

“I must say it was a fantastic event and runs as part of the Long Course Weekend which consists of a 1 or 2 mile swim on the Friday, various cycle courses on the Saturday and the Marathon, half and 10km on the Sunday. Many treat this as a training yardstick for the Tenby Ironman in September with competitors travelling from all over the world. With “Taff Kids“, the children’s run and swim on the Friday evening, it is a positive, party atmosphere over the whole weekend and is well worth marking in your calendar.”
